Coach Andre Glazer

2024 Kempenfeldt Bay Raiders U11 & 2025 Kempenfeldt Bay Raiders U13 Head Coach

Andre Glazer otherwise known as “Coach Dre” as been involved in minor hockey since 1998. Playing in Mississauga with the AA Mississauga Chiefs, after a 2-year run with the Mississauga Chargers as a Center. Andre then took a 7-year break from the ice and is in his element as Coach. The transition from player to coach was a natural one. Andre took the lessons he learned in the sport as a player and transferred them to the bench and youth minor hockey coaching in the U8, U9, U10 age groups getting a firm grasp on the requirements for successfully coaching young athletes. The secret recipe was education, backed by fun, led by positivity! Most kids love the sport but don’t realize that the lessons that are taught on the ice directly relate to life outside of the rink into adult life, perseverance, drive, dedication, motivation, all things required to be successful in any aspect of life.

With a young family himself, Andre is all about the moments and how much they mean to kids and their parents. Hockey is a family and community sport that brings people together to celebrate the love of the game. Andre believes that hockey and specifically “good coaching” is critical to a young athlete’s development because the work you put in as a coach both personally and professionally directly effects the athlete and the way they look at the sport and other important activities in their lives. This is why he takes coaching so seriously and wants to leave a lasting impression on young athletes so that one day they may take the lessons learned and apply them in their day to day.

Andre has been a staple in his community with organizing events to donate to the community and the less fortunate with ties to Toques from the Heart, an organization that spreads love throughout the community during the winter months by handing out thousands of toques to the homeless to show hope and warmth during the holiday season along with work done with Big Brother and Sisters of Canada and The Busby Center.

Andre’s Passion is not hockey! Its education…. Not the school kind of education but the “LIFE” type of education, learning from the experience of winning and losing, from the ups and downs of emotions and the respect that you learn and earn by being a respectful participant in your community.

Making young people strong on the ice but respected in their community.
